Admissions
Welbeck Academy is part of the WISE Academies group; therefore the admission procedure follows WISE Academies principles.
We welcome visits from prospective parents and carers and would ask that you contact the school to make an appointment so that we can ensure that a member of staff will be available to show you around and see all of the great things that happen at Welbeck!
If you would like your child to attend Welbeck Academy,
In year transfer: If you would like your child to transfer to Welbeck from another school, you will need to speak to their current school to complete an in year transfer form, which will then be sent to the local authority. Once we have received the form from the local authority, we will be in contact to provide further information.

Playgroup/ Nursery: If you would like to apply for a place in our Playgroup or Nursery, please telephone the school office 0191 265 5362, to register your interest. Once you have done this, you will be sent an online form to complete. This does not guarantee a place, the form will be reviewed and if the school has space for your child, you will be contacted to arrange a visit, stay and play and to complete further paperwork before a start date is agreed.
Once you have completed the relevant form, please wait for confirmation that your child/children have been allocated a place. This can take up to 14 days. Once a place has been allocated, you will be invited to the school to meet with a senior leader (Assistant Headteacher) and other key members of staff that will be working with your child. You will be asked to provide proof of date of birth and to complete some important documentation for your child. It is compulsory that you attend this meeting prior to starting at Welbeck Academy.
For pupils new to the country or new to English, we have an extra settling in session prior to the child's start date in place. Please see our EAL policy for further information.
There is a right for people to object about the policy to the Schools Adjudicator (OSA). See the Schools Adjudicator website for more information on how to do this.

School Uniform

A uniform list can be found here. School jumpers, cardigans and bookbags can be ordered from our supplier, Emblematic. We recommend placing orders early as demand is high over the summer holidays.
Our uniform website can be found at: http://studentuniform.co.uk/wfs108
We also have a ‘Uniform Recycling’ Swap Shop as an eco-friendly way of supporting our families with uniform expenses. Parents can leave clean, outgrown uniforms in the drop box by the main entrance, this is sorted and redistributed to families as needed. Families who would like to access this service can speak to any member of the staff.
